Story:
Asmita needs to go back to work in order to know what Abhimanyu is working on. Will he spill the beans so easily?
Review:
Dear Ishq once again commences with random shots of Mumbai. Let’s just try and overlook this and hope the show has something to offer because it did promise that the last time towards the end.
Hello, hello, hello. Finally, the moment from the promos is here. It is dumb enough but we didn’t even expect much out of this series.
Niyati Fatnani in the role of Asmita Roy is still one depressed soul. Even looking at her will put you into a bad mood.
Kishwer Merchant as Maya enters the scene soon after. Because even though the show does a par job at writing male characters, they need to show women power, right? So, here we go. Kishwer is made to overact, as expected. She says ‘Tumhe ishq se bhi ishq ho jaayega’ but all we can see is yawns. Big, fat yawns.
Sugandh Dhindaw as Bani has the same graph. She is basically this show’s Pradyuman who simply asks ‘pata lagao yeh kisne kiya’ but not to solve the mystery but spread gossip.
Kunal Verma as Rizwan Khan enters the scene even before Sehban Azim’s Abhimanyu Razdan. It’s almost as if the makers decided the change their main hero since his entry.
It takes literally glimpses of Mumbai once again to introduce Abhimanyu Razdan. And guess what? He’s introduced with his nameplate. Slow claps, everyone!
Sehban almost has the same graph. However, he has the little moments like nose fuming to show how angry he is. These actions work in his favour big time.
The long shots and re-takes of the same scene are back. Does TV ever get bored of it? We already are!
Roma Bali as Abhimanyu’s mother is shown as dramatic just once again. This is beyond irritating this time around, especially with the unnecessary music.
There’s a hilarious moment between Abhimanyu and Asmita. Of course, their imaginary dialogues are better.
The episode ends on a creepy note but that’s quite normal since it is about Dear Ishq and absurd love. Welcome to the world of Dear Ishq, over-and-over.
Verdict:
If you thought that Dear Ishq was going to offer you something good and interesting after last time, think again. This show is a back-and-forth into the concept built from the start – an absurd love story. Welcome to a new time in this apparent romance.
