Deadpool & Wolverine released on the big screen on July 26, and has been a success story.
Deadpool & Wolverine On OTT
Okay, let's all be very honest. When we spoke about Deadpool & Wolverine a year ago and saw it as the movie that would revive the Marvel Cinematic Universe, none of us thought that it would turn out to be the monster it has (of the good kind, of course). We were all busy obsessing over the fact that Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds were making their MCU debuts, Logan was coming back, and that meant the mutants and the X-Men could finally have their time under the sun. There was a lot riding on the very able back of the film that managed to be top-class fan service and a magnet that pulled them into the cinema halls. But there is also an audience that would want to revisit the movie in the comforts of their home and are waiting for the film to drop on streaming.
The post-pandemic world has been mostly about movies having two lives, one on the big screen and the other on streaming, where it gets a reception like it's the premiere. Deadpool & Wolverine will also be a massive event when the movie drops on streaming, and that goes without saying. But the studio has yet to confirm when the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer will hit the OTT world. However, we can guess it is not happening anytime soon, given the box office success. Read on to know everything you should about the same.

It is a given that Deadpool & Wolverine will drop on Disney+ Hotstar as Disney is the backing production house. But the real question is when the movie will drop on the platform. If we look at the box office success of the Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman starrer, we can say that it is going to have a long run on the big screen, and the makers would want to stick there for a while. The movie has, of course, gotten an exclusive theatrical release. So if Disney’s policy is to go by what they have implemented on successful movies, the Shawn Levy directorial will take a 100-day theatrical run before it drops on streaming.
Counting 100 days from July 26, 2024, and tracking a Wednesday around the date considering Disney+ mostly drops new content on Wednesdays, the date is November 6, 2024. But what is surprising is the fact that this is the same period where Agatha: All Along will be in its finale week, and the makers would not want to take away the spotlight from the show. This means Deadpool & Wolverine might hit Disney+ Hotstar easily a week or two from November 6.
However, with The Marvels Disney followed the 89-day policy and released the film on Disney+ Hotstar after it had completed that window in the theatres. In that case, Deadpool & Wolverine gets an October 23, 2024 date, which again clashes with Agatha: All Along, and that is not something the studio would want to do. In this case, all the roads at this point lead us to the second half of November.
Deadpool & Wolverine is now in theatres near you. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
