Ryan Reynolds Talks About Deadpool 4

Amid discussions about superhero fatigue and the supposed decline of the comic book genre, Deadpool & Wolverine emerged as a blockbuster hit. The movie not only brought mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe but also grossed over $1.338 billion worldwide, silencing critics and proving doubters wrong. As the MCU advances, fans are clamoring for Deadpool 4. While rumors and confirmations from Kevin Feige suggest discussions about the franchise's future, no concrete timeline has been revealed. Now, Ryan Reynolds himself has addressed the topic, stating that fans shouldn't expect a fourth movie anytime soon.

Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool 4

For context, Deadpool & Wolverine earned $1.338 billion globally, including a record-breaking $84 million from IMAX screenings. The film has also set new benchmarks on streaming platforms. Despite its monumental success, Ryan Reynolds recently dampened fan excitement by admitting that he isn’t ready to dive into Deadpool 4 just yet.

When asked by Extra about the possibility of a fourth installment, Reynolds quipped:
“Bite your tongue. I would love that, but there’s a reason it’s been six years since the last one. It just sort of swallows my whole life, and I, you know, have four kids that I wouldn’t mind introducing myself to at some point and spending a little time, just walking them to and from school.”

Kevin Feige on the Future of Deadpool and Wolverine

Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios' head honcho, was equally non-committal when discussing the future of Deadpool and Wolverine in the MCU. Given the billion-dollar success of Deadpool & Wolverine it's clear the studio is strategizing their next moves carefully. Addressing the topic, Feige said: “The plans with Deadpool and Wolverine will always be the same: we’re always wondering where we can fit them in, and how fast.”

Deadpool & Wolverine stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool and Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, alongside returning cast members Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), and Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) from the Fox universe. New additions include Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova and Matthew Macfadyen as a TVA Agent, both making their MCU debuts.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more updates on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
