DD Next Level update: Santhanam’s horror comedy wraps filming | See pics

We had earlier reported that the fourth installment of the Tamil horror comedy franchise Dhilluku Dhuddu is in the making. Titled DD Next Level, the filming has now been wrapped up, and gearing up for summer release.

Actor Santhanam started the year with the success of Madha Gaja Raja, which may have been released after 12 years, but resonated with the audience and became a box-office success. Now, soon after Madha Gaja's release, Santhanam announced the fourth installment of the Tamil horror comedy franchise Dhilluku Dhuddu, which is called DD Next Level.

In the latest update about the project, the shooting for DD Next Level has been wrapped up. The makers are looking to release the film in May, with a release date yet to be announced. Produced by Niharika Entertainment and The Show People on a huge budget, actor Arya is presenting the film. Prem Anand is joining the project as director after he helmed DD Returns. Besides Santhanam, DD Next Level also features Gautham Menon, Selvaraghavan, Yashika Anand, Rajendran, and others.

DD Next Level will cater to audiences of all age groups, from children to adults. The film’s plot takes place on a cruise ship and an island. Dipak Kumar Padhy handled the cinematography of DD Next Level, and Ofro composed the music. Bharath is in charge of editing and AR Mohan is the art director.

Where to watch DD franchise on OTT?

Dhilluku Dhuddu, the first part released in 2016 and is streaming on SunNXT and the OTTplay Premium app. Directed by Rambala, the film is about a couple whose love is not accepted by the girl’s father, However, things go awry after he gets invited to a haunted house.

Dhilluku Dhuddu 2 is available on ZEE5, with Santhanam and the director once again coming together. The film is a spiritual sequel. DD Returns was released in 2023 and is a standalone sequel, which is available on Disney+ Hotstar.
