The filmmaker announced that a Hindi version of the State Award-winning film is also in the works
Yesterday marked four years since Dayal Padmanabhan’s Aa Karaala Ratri released in theatres. The film not only did well at the box office, but was also adjudged the Best Film of 2018 at the Karnataka State Film Awards. The film, which had Jayaram, Anupama Gowda, Rangayana Raghu and Veena Sundar in the lead, with Ashita Chandrappa, Naveen Krishna and Jaya Srinivasan also on the cast, was subsequently remade by Dayal in Telugu as Anaganaga O Athidhi, which got a direct-to-OTT release on Aha Telugu. Also, although a Hindi dubbed version, Ghatak Raat is available to stream on Youtube, Dayal, who’s also produced Aa Karaala Ratri, sold its Hindi remake rights to Madhu Reddy, with pre-production on the film currently on.
In a long social media post to celebrate four years of Aa Karaala Ratri, Dayal also announced that the Tamil remake of the film will go on floors this year.
