Pavan Sadineni, who’s made a mark as a director with films like Prema Ishq Kaadhal, Senapathi and a host of web shows like Commitmental, Ee Office Lo, is working on a series for Disney+ Hotstar titled Dayaa. Produced by SVF, the show stars JD Chakravarthy, Josh Ravi, Eesha Rebba, Ramya Nambeesan, Kamal Kamaraju, Prithiveeraj and others in key roles.
After a series of character posters, promos, the trailer of the show was unveiled recently. The story traces the highs and lows in the life of a driver, who finds an unclaimed dead body in his van. Meanwhile, a television journalist goes missing and her husband files a police complaint. There’s also a crooked politician who’ll go to any length to seek power. How are their lives connected?
Dayaa is a crime thriller that’ll be out on Disney+ Hotstar this August 4. Vishnupriya, Moin, Keshav Deepak, Mayank Parakh and Nandagopal and others form the supporting cast. Vivek Kalepu is the cinematographer for the show which has music by Shravan Bharadwaj. Pavan Sadineni and Vasant Jurru have co-written the show and Viplav Nyshadam is the editor.
Rakendu Mouli has written the dialogues. The makers had recreated the Kakinada port backdrop in Mangalore for the show which was shot in a record time. Both the production house, SVF and the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar, are reportedly very happy with the final copy and one can expect abundant promotional activity ahead of its premiere.

The show marks the Telugu OTT debut of JD Chakravarthy, who rose to prominence with his films like Shiva, Satya, Egire Paavurama, Premaku Velayera, Bombai Priyudu in Telugu and Hindi cinema. He’s also directed and produced feature films later. Disney+ Hotstar’s other recent releases include Save The Tigers, Shaitan, Rudramambapuram, Anger Tales and O Kala.
