The film, also starring Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur, was released on April 7.
Abhishek Bachchan’s recent on-screen appearance came in Dasvi, where he played a disgraced politician determined to get his high school diploma. When the film’s trailer was released, viewers took notice of one witty line in particular, where Bachchan’s character is heard saying, ‘Everybody loves Deepika’, referring to actress Deepika Padukone. Bachchan was questioned about this line on an upcoming episode of The Kapil Sharma Show.
In a promo video for the show’s latest episode, Sharma is heard asking Bachchan whether or not that particular line was scripted, to which the actor replied ‘yes’. Bachchan said that if not, he would have said something else. The exchange was made all the more hilarious when the star added the reason, “Ghar bhi jaana padta hai Kapil”.
