Abhishek A Bachchan has kept his promise and hosted the screening of his upcoming film, Dasvi at Agra Jail. The actor kept the screening for the jail officials and inmates. At the screening, Abhishek was joined by the director, Tushar Jalota, and his co-stars, Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur. AB took to his social media pages and shared a video from the screening he hosted with a heartwarming message.
The caption on the video reads, "A promise is a promise!! Last night I managed to fulfil a commitment I made a year ago. The first screening of our film, #Dasvi, was held for the guards and inmates of Agra Central Jail. We shot the film here. Their reactions are memories I will remember and cherish for a lifetime."
Earlier, during an interaction with News18, when Abhishek was asked about the special screening, he had said that he was looking forward to the chance to show them the movie. They are going to Agra to hold a special screening for the detainees since they told them that they would come back and show them the film after they worked on it. So Abhishek is looking forward to them seeing it.
Jalota added that Abhishek had promised to conduct a special screening of Dasvi for all the convicts in the jail while filming in Agra. The filmmaker praised the actor and said that he is a true man of his word, and they are looking forward to presenting their labour of love.
Dasvi centres around an uneducated Chief Minister of Haryana, who is attempting to complete his Class 10th while imprisoned.
The film is skipping theatrical release and will premiere on Netflix and JioCinema on April 7, 2022.
