Dasvi: Amitabh Bachchan calls Nimrat Kaur ‘exceptional’ in a handwritten letter; see actress’ response

The Tushar Jalota directorial, which had its OTT release on April 7, stars Abhishek Bachchan, Kaur and Yami Gautam.

Although Dasvi received a lukewarm response from critics, most viewers appreciated the performances of the film’s cast that includes Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam. Nimrat Kaur recently shared a note of appreciation she received from none other than Amitabh Bachchan himself.

Taking to her official Instagram handle, Kaur shared a photograph of a handwritten note written by Bachchan and a bouquet of flowers the actor sent her as well. In the note to her, the veteran actor mentions how he and Kaur have ‘hardly had any interactions’ together, and also remembers the last time the two met. He goes on to say that Kaur’s performance in Dasvi is ‘exceptional’, congratulating the actress for the same.

In the post’s caption, Kaur said that it feels like a ‘distant dream’ to hear Bachchan remembering their interactions and getting appreciation from him for her work in Dasvi. Thanking Bachchan for his kind words, she goes on to say that his letter will motivate her throughout her life.

Dasvi follows the story of a politician, played by Abhishek Bachchan, who decides to study and get his high school diploma, after being imprisoned in a scam case. Kaur stars as his wife, who is tasked with fulfilling her husband’s political responsibilities when he is in jail. A part of the film’s review on OTTplay reads, “It was Nimrat Kaur who was the show-stealer in the film. From being the cherubic and naive wife of a CM to taking power in her hands along with an extreme image makeover, she has been shown fantastically.”

The film, directed by Tushar Jalota, also features Yami Gautam, Shivam Roy Prabhakar, Manu Rishi Chadha, Arun Kushwaha, Shivankit Singh Parihar, and Sumit Shekhar Rai.
