After a hiatus of seven years, Nimrat Kaur appeared in a Bollywood project, Dasvi. The film, which released on Netflix recently has been heaping praises for her performance. The actor played the role of Bimla Devi, wife of a politician, played by Abhishek Bachchan. In a recent interview, Nimrat talked about her absence from Bollywood with Hindustan Times. She said she hasn't purposely kept away from Bollywood films and honestly wanted to work on more projects.

When asked about the possibility of being forgotten by Indian audience due to her absence, Nimrat Kaur replied, she has enough faith and belief in herself to believe that no matter what project she undertakes in any part of world, no matter how long it takes, there will always be room in the audience's minds for her. It's motivating to hear things like "they want to see more of me." It's a case of ”absence makes the heart grow fonder.”

Nimrat Kaur expressed her desire to spend more time in Bollywood, saying she wished she could have pursued her last Hindi production with a new project much more quickly. But it is something she can't control, particularly for someone like her who also wants to work on international projects. After Airlift she went abroad for six months to film a television drama called Wayward Pines.

Nimrat Kaur was last seen in Akshay Kumar's Airlift in 2016. Nimrat did a Hindi web series called The Test Case during this seven-year break. When it comes to being picky, she says there are a lot of things she can't control. Nimrat Kaur admits that she doesn't worry about things she doesn't have control over because it's not in her nature.

Nimrat Kaur, who gained 15 kilos for Dasvi recently shared pictures of her physical transformation, showing her in better shape, losing all the extra weight she had to put on for the social comedy film. Written by Ritesh Shah and directed by debutante Tushar Jalota, the film Dasvi is streaming currently on Netflix and Jio Cinemas.
