Telugu superstar Nani's latest movie Dasara has set the box office on fire in the Telugu states.
Telugu superstar Nani has hit a career-high with his latest film Dasara . The movie has managed to recover 90% of its cost in just its opening weekend. Dasara took in a total of Rs 78 crore at the worldwide box office since its release on Thursday.
Critics and audiences alike have praised the film's storyline, direction, and performances by the cast, which has undoubtedly contributed to its commercial success. Nani's portrayal of the lead character has been especially lauded, cementing his position as one of Telugu cinema's bankable stars.

Dasara is set to emerge as the biggest Telugu hit of this summer, benefitting from the absence of any serious competition at the box office in the Telugu states. According to AndhraBoxoffice, within the first four days of its release, the movie collected more than Rs 51 crore in the Telugu states alone. And it has earned Rs 10 crore from other parts of the country. It is also doing solid business in the US, which is one of the key overseas markets for Telugu movies.
With its overwhelming success, Dasara has not only cemented Nani's position as a box office draw but also set a new benchmark for Telugu cinema's commercial viability.
On the other hand, Bollywood star Ajay Devgn's Bholaa, which is the remake of Tamil hit Kaithi, is struggling to gain momentum at the box office. The four-day domestic collection of the movie is pegged at Rs 44 crore. "#Bholaa needs to maintain the momentum over weekdays… In fact, it’s the performance on weekdays that will determine where it’s headed. The #Ramadan period as well as #IPL2023 have impacted its biz, to an extent… However, the holidays ahead - Tue [#MahavirJayanti] and Fri [#GoodFriday] - may prove advantageous. Lack of prominent releases [till #KBKJ on #Eid] is another advantage that #Bholaa enjoys," tweeted popular trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
The buzz is that the good-word-mouth for Dasara might help the movie gain new audiences in the Hindi belt in the coming days. However, in the North Indian circuit, till today Bholaa remains the number one movie at the box office.
