Film to hit theatres on April 1, in direct competition with Upendra's Home Minister.
Two years ago, Darling Krishna literally rewrote his fortune with his directorial debut, Love Mocktail, a film that he also produced, which went on to become a hit. In the time since, Darling Krishna became the darling of Kannada filmmakers, signing up for a handful of projects as acting commitments only. While only one, srikrishna@gmail.com, has released so far, there are others like Local Train, Sugar Factory, Mr Bachelor, Lucky Man, Dil Pasand, Love Me or Hate Me, Love Birds, etc. in the pipeline. Krishna also saw the release of the sequel to Love Mocktail, Love Mocktail 2 release and have a good run at the box office, following which it has now headed to OTT.
The actor is now gearing up for the release of Local Train, which pairs him with Ester Noronha and Meena Dixit. The film is all set to release on the April 1, in a direct box office clash with Upendra and Vedhika’s Home Minister. According to reports, Local Train, is about a love story that blossoms in a train that connects Bengaluru and its rural outskirts. Directed by Rudramuni YS, the film has music by Arjun Janya. Local train also stars Sadhu Kokila, Tennis Krishna, Suchendra Prasad, Gurudutt, Bhajarangi Loki among others.
When srikrishna@gmail.com released and tanked at the box office, the buzz on social media was that in his hurry to sign as many projects as possible, Krishna was compromising on quality and prioritising quantity only. Several fans said that he was ruining the goodwill he got with the Love Mocktail franchise. Krishna has said that he is aware of this criticism, but adds that it is impossible for him to be as involved as he is with his own films with every other project, as it is physically and mentally draining. Also, he does not deem it right to interfere with the vision of another filmmaker, he said.
