After growing out of his Harry Potter image, Daniel Radcliffe has diversified his filmography quite a bit. So there's no wonder that his fans have been wanting him to see as a superhero, especially Wolverine, the X-Man popularly played by Hugh Jackman.
Cinema Blend writes that as a result, the Radcliffe fandom has increasingly been posting fan art featuring the actor as Logan.
The actor finally broke his silence on these speculations and said that while he seems like the unlikely choice to play the superhero, he hopes that Marvel Studios changes its mind.
"It’s the most easy way to disappoint people. Because so many times people come up to me like, ‘Hey man, I heard the Wolverine news that’s really cool.’ And it’s like ‘Mate, it’s not. I don’t know anything about it.’ I appreciate that someone is clearly going ‘Wolverine’s actually short in the comic books, you should get a short guy to do it.’ But I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me afterwards. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel," said Radcliffe.
He currently stars in the adventure romantic comedy The Lost City of D with Channing Tatum and Sandra Bullock. The film had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Festival on March 12 and will be released in Indian cinemas on April 15.
Radcliffe is also going to soon play Weird Al Yankovic in an upcoming biopic directed by Eric Appel from a script he has co-written with Yankovic. The film also stars Evan Rachel Wood, Rainn Wilson, and Julianne Nicholson.
