Well, besides everything else, there was one more dialogue that has always been resonating with the film’s memories. Dalip Tahil shares an interesting incident
While on the topic Dalip Tahil, the veteran actor had recently been on an interview on ‘Untriggered with Aminjaz’. It is here, in this interview, that he recalled the ‘repercussions’ of playing the role of Madan Chopra in ‘Baazigar’. In the interview, Dalip Tahil walked memory lane and recalled a rather interesting incident that had taken place. He was asked whether he considered it as a compliment when audiences despise a character portrayed by an actor in a negative role.
Encounter with a besotted fan of SRK!
That’s when Dalip Tahil replied stating that, it was sort of strange because it is a compliment that they actually don’t like you because the audience associate you with the character. He added that he did it so well that many hated his guts. He, then, recalled an interesting incident which had happened with him at the Heathrow Airport in London.
The actor recalled stating that, when he was just about to board the plane at the Heathrow Airport in London, a girl came to him and asked ‘why did he beat Shah Rukh Khan so much’ (in the film ‘Baazigar’). The actor added that he could make out that the girl was so besotted with Shah Rukh Khan and that the way in which she told him (Dalip Tahil), he began to feel very terrible!
"You are the bad guy"!
And when he tried to reason it to the girl that, even he (Shah Rukh Khan’s character) had hit his character in the film, pat came the girl’s reply that, that just did not matter and that since he was the bad guy, that was bound to happen. But she was still insisting as to why he hit him (Shah Rukh Khan’s character) in the film!
