Sonakshi Sinha plays the role of a cop in the upcoming series.
Today, Prime Video revealed the release date for their new criminal drama, Dahaad an Amazon Original series. Dahaad will now have its Prime Video debut on May 12, 2023, after earlier this year becoming the first Indian series to have its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival. Sonakshi Sinha, Vijay Varma, Gulshan Devaiah, and Sohum Shah are among the stars of the Excel Media & Entertainment and Tiger Baby-produced television series that Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar developed.
In the series Dahaad which Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi directed, Sonakshi Sinha makes her digital debut. Sonakshi Sinha plays a tough female officer who works to solve a grisly murder case while an unaware culprit is on the loose. Sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati and her coworkers are the subjects of this eight-part crime drama series, which follows a police station in a small town.
It all begins with a slew of curiously discovered deceased women in public restrooms. Anjali Bhaati, a sub-inspector, is charged with conducting the inquiry. Anjali grew to believe that a serial murderer was on the loose as the cases came to light, even if the murders at first seemed to be obvious suicides. As she gathers evidence before another innocent lady loses her life, a skilled criminal and an underdog cop engage in a gripping game of cat and mouse.
While making the announcement, Prime Video unveiled a poster featuring Sonakshi giving an intriguing look. The post is captioned, "Only a powerful roar can uncover the truth. #DahaadOnPrime, New Series, May 12: @aslisona @itsvijayvarma @gulshandevaiah78 @shah_sohum @reemakagti1 #RuchikaOberoi @ritesh_sid @zoieakhtar @faroutakhtar @excelmovies @tigerbabyofficial @kassimjagmagia @sunitha.ram @angaddevsingh_ @vishalrr."
