Daaku Maharaaj
Daaku Maharaaj, Balakrishna's latest film, has been declared a decent hit at the box office. Released on January 12, 2025, the film opened to strong collections on day one and continues to perform well. However, the occupancy rate has been declining with each passing day.
On its fifth day, Daaku Maharaaj collected ₹6 crore followed by ₹4.5 crore net worldwide. With this, the total collections have crossed the ₹70 crore mark, a commendable feat, especially given the limited promotion before release.
Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film showcases Balakrishna in a completely new avatar, which has delighted his fans. Thaman’s music, particularly the background score, has been a major highlight, elevating the film's thrilling moments. Balakrishna's portrayal of Maharaaj has earned widespread appreciation, and his performance is one of the film’s biggest assets.
Produced by Sithara Entertainments, Daaku Maharaaj has also grossed over $1.5 million in the US market. With the weekend underway, the collections are expected to rise further. However, the film faces tough competition from Venkatesh’s Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, which has taken the box office by storm.
During a success meet, Balakrishna expressed excitement about the future, hinting that his "2.0 innings" will surprise everyone. The film features Urvashi Rautela as the female lead, with Chandini Chowdary and Shraddha Srinath in key roles. The action sequences, especially in the second half, have been crafted on a grand scale.
With Daaku Maharaaj marking Balakrishna's fourth consecutive hit, he shows no signs of slowing down. In the US too, his last four films have raked in 5 million USD. It remains to be seen how much the film will collect in the coming days.
