D57: Darshan's next not with Tharun Kishore Sudhir or V. Harikrishna? Here's what we hear...
Fans of the Challenging Star Darshan have always maintained a keen eye on his line-up of films with most of them being privy to his whereabouts and his prospective collaborations. Many would know that the star actor is currently busy shooting for Tharun Kishore Sudhir's Kaatera and if reports are to be believed, the team is inching close to completion.
Following this, Darshan is supposed to reunite with his Yajamana and Kranti team of director V. Harikrishna & producers Shylaja Nag and B. Suresha of Media House Studio for a third collaboration. In the same vein, the 46-year-old actor is also meant to work with Tharun Sudhir on another project but the timeline of it all seems quite murky as of now.
In a recent conversation with OTTplay, Darshan shared that his plans are never set in stone and there isn't an order of priority either when it comes to picking filmmakers. "I cannot sit idle waiting for a film to take off. Whoever's prepared first within the existing line-up of films, I would go with them. Since Hari (V. Harikrishna) has prepared a script exclusively for me, I will go with him next. As simple as that," said the DBoss.
However, we now hear that Darshan has signed on to star in a film produced by Rekha Jagadish. The project in question, according to the latest report by the Times of India, is likely to take off once Darshan is done with his Kaatera commitments and the makers are expected to reveal details regarding the director and the story at the earliest. Rekha Jagadish, speaking to TOI, said that the film under development will boast all the commercial elements that Darshan's fans seek and that the team is striving hard in putting the film together.
So, does this mean that V. Harikrishna project has been back-burned for now? Or, could it be possible that the same film warrants additional prep time which allows Darshan to squeeze in another film in the meantime? Well, a lot is left to conjecture at the moment but one could also surmise that the superstar actor is potentially looking to explore newer subjects with newer filmmakers and perhaps break away from his comfort zone for a while. With Kranti, his most recent release, not living up to the expectations at the box office and also receiving a slightly underwhelming response from the fans, too, Darshan's radar of filmmakers could have also expanded. More updates to follow.
