D50, written and directed by Dhanush, is expected to hit the theatres in 2024
The most-awaited update from Dhanush’s ambitious second directorial project is here! The actor-director announced that the shoot for his upcoming directorial film, D50, has been wrapped up. He also expressed his gratitude to the cast and crew. The movie, written and directed by Dhanush, is also his 50th film in the lead role.

The Asuran star took to his social media handles to share the latest update about his sophomore directorial. In a note posted on X, he wrote, “My sincere thanks to the entire crew and cast. Also a big thanks to Kalanithi Maran sir and Sun Pictures for supporting my vision.”
About D50
Tentatively titled D50, the film is Dhanush’s second directorial after his 2017 superhit film Pa Paandi. Touted to be a gangster movie, D50 is set in the backdrop of north Madras. The film is said to follow the lives of three brothers. The roles of the siblings will be played by Vishnu Vishal, S J Suryah, and Dhanush himself.
Dushara Vijayan, Kalidas Jayaram, Aparna Balamurali, Anikha Surendran and Sundeep Kishan are also rumoured to be playing pivotal roles in the film. However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement about the cast. The film is expected to hit the theatres in 2024.
About Captain Miller
Meanwhile, Dhanush will play the titular role in the upcoming period action film Captain Miller, which is set in the British India of 1930s-40s. The film is said to be centred around a LTTE rebel named Miller who pulled off some of the daring loots and heists along with his crew. A leaked synopsis of the film revealed that Miller must choose to either confront the challenges posed to him or continue escaping the clutches of law.
Directed by Arun Matheswaran, the film boasts of a star cast comprising Dhanush, Shiva Rajkumar, Priyanka Mohan, Sundeep Kishan, Niveditha Sathish, John Kokken and Elango Kumaravel. The cinematography is handled by Siddhartha Nuni and editing by Nagooran Ramachandran. The film is bankrolled by TG Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films. The film is all set to hit the big screens on Pongal 2024.
