Sun Pictures is bankrolling the project which stars a bevy of talented actors,
Dhanush and Deva
Dhanush, whose next release is Captain Miller, which is scheduled to hit the screens on December 15, is busy with his directorial project. Tentatively titled D 50, it marks his sophomore movie as a filmmaker. Sun Pictures is bankrolling the movie; an announcement was made by the production house a few months ago.

There are reports of SJ Suryah, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas, Anikha Surendran and Dushara Vijayan among others essaying important characters in the movie, which is expected to go on floors soon. The team is yet to finalize its crew members.
Deva approached to play a crucial role
The veteran musician has now opened up about something which has left cinephiles surprised. He said that Dhanush approached him to play a villain role in D 50. Quite shocked about the same, he asked Dhanush why he wanted him to essay the character.
The Vaathi star apparently replied that he was always in awe of the manner in which Deva speaks the north Madras dialect. However, he hasn't revealed what happened further. Deva also added that he is fond of Dhanush as an actor, filmmaker and as a human being.
Dhanush's directorial debut with Pa Paandi
The actor turned a filmmaker with Pa Paandi in 2017 and earned appreciation from critics and moviegoers. The film revolves around a sexagenarian who leaves his home to find his old love. Rajkiran, Revathi, Prasanna and Chaya Singh among others essayed key roles in the feel-good drama.

Dhanush, too, appeared in a cameo along with Madonna Sebastian. He was seen in the crucial flashback portions which left his fans thrilled.
