A new documentary about sinister underground cyber activity in Germany is all set to debut on Netflix this upcoming week. Titled 'Cyberbunker: The Criminal Underworld', the suspenseful docu. film will debut on Netflix on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
Centred around an idyllic town in Germany, Cyberbunker: The Criminal Underworld traces how a Cold War-era underground bunker became the epicentre for highly notorious and mysterious cybercrime. The players in the thick of it are a group of Dutchmen and their leader Herman Xennt who wish to take over a vast NATO bunker under the quaint town of Traben-Trarbach. At first, Xennt and his men attempt to win the trust of the town folk by promising them a prosperous future, but it emerges that something isn't right about the intentions of the group. As an underworld grows amid the tranquillity, major actions become warranted.
The trailer of Cyberbunker: The Criminal Underworld says that as many as 650 police officers, including special tactical units, were deployed to tackle this threat. Herman Xennt is described as a 'darknet Guru' by one of the many voices in the voiceover, while another opines that he is like any typical '007 James Bond' villain who is evidently capable of pulling off a major international criminal business right under the nose of an entire town. Kilian Lieb and Max Rainer are credited as the directors of the documentary.

Cyberbunker, of course, is the new entrant to Netflix's growing list of cybercrime titles which includes other documentaries like 'Cyber Hell: Exposing an Internet Horror', 'Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King', 'The Great Hack', 'The Tinder Swindler', 'Don't F**k With Cats: Hunting an Internet Caller' and others.
