As promised, the makers of Cuttputlli have unveiled the first song from the film’s soundtrack. Titled Saathiya, the film gives a glimpse into Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh’s charming love story.
The music video opens with a stunning sequence where the lovebirds are seen lost in each other’s love atop a colourful hot air balloon, floating off to an airport runway. The couple then treat viewers to some groovy dance moves, accompanied by a host of uniformed flight attendants trying to match their moves.

The track was sung by Zahrah S. Khan and Nikhil D'Souza and featured lyrics penned by Tanishk Bagchi, the latter having also composed the song’s music.
Talking about the song, Akshay had “It’s the tune that you will listen to while driving and even groove at a party, it will grow on you and before you know you’re humming it”.
Calling it one of her favourite songs from the film’s soundtrack, Rakul said “I think its a very refreshing melody, its after very long I have heard a romantic melodious track. I truly believe that this will touch people’s hearts”.
In addition to Akshay and Rakul, Cuttputlli also stars Sargun Mehta and Chandrachur Singh in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Ranjit M Tewari, marking the director’s most recent collaboration with Akshay after the 2021 film, Bell Bottom. Aseem Arrora has penned the script for the upcoming film, which was produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh under the banners of Pooja Entertainment.
Cuttputlli will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from September 2 onwards. For US audiences, the film will stream on Hulu.
The upcoming film, initially titled Mission Cinderella, is the Hindi remake of the 2018 Tamil film Ratsasan. The original film, directed by Ram Kumar, followed the story of a police officer investigating a string of murders carried out by a dreaded serial killer The Tamil film starred Vishnu Vishal, Amala Paul, Saravanan, Kaali Venkat, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, and Ramdoss in pivotal roles and is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
