Creature Commandos New Footage Revealed

The world is about to witness the new dawn of Warner Bros’ DCU in less than a month. While the live-action wing doesn’t roll out the red carpet until July next year with Superman hitting the big screen, the franchise will kick off with an animated show called Creature Commandos set to release on Max (formerly HBO Max) next month (December). As we count down the days until the release of the show, fans have been eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of what the makers have in store for them. Now, with the The Penguin finale streaming tonight, HBO has shared a showreel announcing everything that will be released on Max in the next year.

Creature Commandos Footage Released

The showreel also includes footage from Creature Commandos which is set to release on Max on December 5. It provides a sneak peek of what’s to come in the following weeks on the streamer. The footage confirms that the show revolves around a group of superhumans—like a werewolf, vampire, Frankenstein's monster, and a gorgon—all led by a human as they embark on dangerous missions together. The teaser has certainly piqued excitement, and we can't wait for more.

About Creature Commandos

Backed by Warner Bros, Creature Commandos will be a seven-episode series streaming on Max. Written by James Gunn, the show is based on a black-ops team of monsters who are brought together by Amanda Waller. The series will focus on their lives as they face the dangers that await. Think of them as the Thunderbolts of the DCU. The animated show is expected to be mostly TV-MA rated due to its violent content. Even the animated version will warrant such a rating.

Creature Commandos Cast

One thing James Gunn is investing a lot of time in is casting his DCU characters, and he’s certainly not rushing the process. For Creature Commandos he has assembled an interesting mix of actors to headline the project. Viola Davis will, of course, reprise her role as Amanda Waller—there’s truly no one else who can take on that role. Anya Chalotra has been confirmed as Circe in the show.

Other confirmed cast members include David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr. Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Zoe Chao as Nina Mazursky, Indira Varma as Bride of Frankenstein, Alan Tudyk as Doctor Phosphorus, Sean Gunn as G.I. Robot, and Steve Agee as John Economos.

Creature Commandos is set to hit Max and JioCinema in India on December 5, 2024. You can watch the show with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
