Coolie, the Rajinikanth starrer directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj was expected to feature Nagarjuna as the lead antagonist. However, the Telugu superstar is now not a part of Thalaivar 171.
Rajinikanth is teaming up with hitmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj for the first time in his career, for the upcoming film Coolie. The movie, which is touted to be a mass action film, marks the legendary superstar’s 171st outing in the film industry. The much-awaited project, which started rolling recently, was expected to feature Nagarjuna Akkineni as the lead antagonist. However, the recent updates suggest that the Telugu superstar has turned down the Rajinikanth starrer.
If the recent updates are to be believed, Nagarjuna Akkineni turned down the highly anticipated Rajinikanth starrer leaving the cine-goers highly disappointed. The grapevine suggests that the Telugu superstar decided to not take up the offer, as he has a busy schedule. However, some other reports suggest that Nagarjuna rejected the offer to play the lead antagonist in Coolie, as he feels playing the villain opposite Rajinikanth will not be the right career move for him at this point.
Even though the makers of Coolie have not reacted to the reports yet, the rumour mills suggest that director Lokesh Kanagaraj and his team are now busy with the casting of the film’s lead antagonist. The reports suggest that some of the biggest stars in the South Indian film industry and Bollywood are being considered for the role in the Rajinikanth starrer. An official update on the same is expected to be out very soon.
