Silambarasan in Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is one of the most-expected Tamil films to hit the screens this month. The Silambarasan-starrer has been slated for a theatrical release on September 15. The Gautham Menon directorial, produced by Vels Film International, stars Siddhi Idnani, Radhika Sarathkumar and Neeraj Madhav in pivotal roles.

The trailer and audio of the movie were launched at an event yesterday in Chennai which was attended by the film crew. Kamal Haasan was the chief guest for the event, and the veteran actor-filmmaker wished success to the team.

The makers were tight-lipped about the OTT partner of the project till yesterday. However, several flex boards of OTT giant Amazon Prime Video were erected at the trailer and audio launch venue of the movie. An official announcement on the film's digital partner is expected to be made soon. If everything goes well, Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu will have its OTT premiere in October.

Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies has acquired the movie's theatrical rights in Tamil Nadu. The leading production house is on a roll with bagging rights of promising movies back-to-back this year. The film is likely to have a box office clash with Jayam Ravi's Agilan and Arun Vijay's Sinam which are arriving on September 15 and 16 respectively.

Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu is Silambarasan's first movie as a protagonist to be released after the blockbuster success of Maanaadu which hit the screens in November last year. Though he was seen in Maha which released a few months ago, his role was a cameo.

The actor's next release is likely to be Pathu Thala which will release in December. Gautham Menon, on the other hand, has two long-pending films awaiting release.
