Premalu has been in the spotlight for a while now because the movie was this year's unexpected hit in the Malayalam film industry. To the delight of its fans, the makers of this romantic comedy have now released a significant update about the movie. At the movie's success meet in Kochi, director Girish AD revealed that there will be a sequel to Premalu.
The announcement coincides with fan theories concerning the sequel's storyline and characters' fates. Premalu 2 will hit theatres in 2025 with "more fun and energy," the director has confirmed. He continued by saying that more information regarding the sequel has not yet been determined and will be revealed over time. But the ensemble will not change, and Bhavana Studio will be bankrolling this project.
Karthika (Akhila Bhargavan) and Reenu (Mamitha Baiju) were seen talking on the phone in a promo video that was shown during the event, suggesting that their friendship is still going strong despite the former's move to Bangalore. Aadhi (Shyam Mohan) appears to be in charge of a coconut grove at the moment, and Pambavaasan (Syam Pushkaran) is giving him coconut water in the clip. Thomas (Mathew Thomas) takes over his mother's fast-food restaurant, TFC, while Amal Davis (Sangeeth Prathap) has finally made it to his girlfriend at IIT Roorkee. Sachin (Naslen) is depicted as a bartender in the meantime, implying that he works a part-time job in the UK after moving there to pursue his education and settle down.
Reviews for the romantic comedy have been favourable because of its spontaneous humour and laid-back yet intriguing plot. Days after the show's theatrical release, multiple shows were sold out, indicating that audiences felt they had seen a solid entertainer who had never once exhausted them when they left the theatre.

Following a resounding theatrical run in Kerala and other states, Premalu is now available in the digital realm. While Disney+ Hotstar streams the Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi versions, Aha provides the Telugu version.
