This is indeed a season of multilinguals in Indian cinema. The OTT era has diminished the language barrier across various parts of the country, widening the appeal of regional films across non-native viewers. Everyone's dreaming big with their vision, every film is finding its niche audience on the digital space and there's no better time than now to venture into uncharted territories. Arrdham, a psychological thriller, headlined by child artiste-turned-lead actor Mahendra (better known as Mahendran) and Shraddha Das is gearing up for a release across all South Indian languages (Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada).
The first look of the film was released by composer Thaman across his social media handles on Sunday, where he wished the team the 'very best'. The look hints at the theme of the thriller, comrpising elements including a clock, a bunch of ropes, a woman being tied to one of them, signifying the theme of time and death. The film is written, edited and directed by Manikanth Thalaguti, who has prior experience as an editor and a VFX technician. Radhika Srinivas has produced Arrdham under Minerva Movie Makers and SVM (Sri Vasavi Movie) Productions.
Arrdham also features Amani, Sahithi Avancha and Vaishali fame Nandan in key roles. Arjun Reddy-fame Harshavardhan Rameshwar has scored the music for the film, while Rakendu Mouli has penned the dialogues and lyrics. The film completed its post-production work recently and the producer Radhika Srinivas, in a media statement, confirmed that the release date would be announced shortly. The director promises a film that is high on technical standards and reiterates the importance of family values and women to humankind.
