The second season of the political drama, created and produced by Subhash Kapoor, arrives on SonyLIV on August 25
Maharani, SonyLIV’s political drama headlined by Huma Qureshi, was a show that took the digital space by storm in its first season and surprised many viewers with the heavyweight drama and intensity. The successful show is returning to entertain streaming enthusiasts again with the second instalment scheduled to release on August 25. The show is created and co-written by Subhash Kapoor.
The music across both seasons has been composed by Rohit Sharma and the recently released trailer too proves that the story has provided him ample scope to showcase his worth. Sharing his excitement about the release of Maharani season 2, he admitted that the show is easily one of the best projects in his career and the responses from the cast, crew, viewers have validated the same.
In a chat, the composer adds, “The entire team of Maharani, including Subhash Kapoor and Huma Qureshi appreciated my work. I genuinely believe that the viewers are in for a feast this time as well. This is a rare show that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The trailer has been received well, and crowds are eager to catch it.” This series comprises seven songs on the whole.
“I hope audiences and music buffs enjoy my music for Maharani S2. I can assure you that the best part of this season is that it is way more intense than season one. Hang on and you will not be disappointed,” he said. The cast of the show, directed by Ravindra Gautam also comprises Amit Sial, Sohum Shah, Vineet Kumar, Pramod Pathak, Kani Kusruti, Anuja Sathe, Neha Chauhan, Sushil Pandey and Dibyendu Bhattacharya.
Maharani Season 2 is jointly written by Subhash Kapoor, Nandan Singh and Umashankar Singh. It is bankrolled by Naren Kumar and Dimple Kharbanda. Apart from Maharani, Rohit Sharma is working on three films, one of them featuring Rinku Rajguru, written and directed by Chennai-based Ram Mahindra. Some of Rohit Sharma’s other critically acclaimed projects include The Kashmir Files and Ship of Theseus.
