Varun Dhawan-Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Citadel: Honey Bunny will be out after Citadel: Diana
Back when Priyanka Chopra-Richard Madden’s Citadel was announced, the series became one of the most-awaited. Directed by Russo Brothers, it paved way to various versions being made in different countries. The Indian version Citadel: Honey Bunny is yet to be released but there’s a confirmed date and of course, platform, for where the Italian version, Citadel: Diana, will be out.
Citadel: Diana will be out globally on October 10. Like the other shows, it will be available for streaming on Prime Video. All six episodes for the show will release at once.
Helmed by Arnaldo Catinari and developed by Alessandro Fabbri (also writer), Citadel: Diana stars Matilda De Angelis (of The Undoing fame) as the lead. It also stars Lorenzo Cervasio, Maurizio Lombardi, Julia Piaton, Thekla Reuten, Giordana Faggiano, Daniele Paoloni, Bernhard Schütz and Filippo Nigro.
Commencing from Milan in 2030, Citadel: Diana is set in the past, eight years back, when an undercover Citadel agent Diana Cavalieri (Matilda De Angelis) is trapped in enemy lines and works as a mole in Manticore. A little background is that Manticore, a powerful enemy syndicate of Citadel, destroyed it in the past. After eight long years, Diana finally finds a way out of enemy sight and disappear forever. In order to do that, she has to trust an unusual friend, Edo Zani (Lorenzo Cervasio). She is the heir of Manticore’s Italy branch and the son of the head of the organization, Ettore Zani (Maurizio Lombardi). He wants leadership against other European families.
Citadel began with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Richard Madden’s series helmed by Russo Brothers. It set the tone for the Italian and Indian versions. Once Citadel: Diana releases on October 10, the Indian version Citadel: Honey Bunny’s release date will be announced. Directed by Raj and DK, the show stars Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the lead roles. Soon after, we would get a second season of the original Citadel.
