Kangana Ranaut, who won the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh in the recently held elections, was reportedly slapped by a security staff at the Chandigarh airport. The actress-politician has alleged that a woman CISF personnel ‘hit’ her.
Why was Kangana slapped?
The CISF staff allegedly did not like Kangana Ranaut’s attitude towards the farmers' protest and slapped the Bollywood actress, who is now an MP. Kangana shared the same through a video which she captioned, “Shocking rise in terror and violence in Punjab.”

Kangana was boarding the flight to Delhi from Chandigarh airport around 3.30 pm on Thursday, June 6, when the incident took place. She was waiting at the airport lounge when she was allegedly attacked. Kangana’s team confirmed the same to ABP news.
Kangana, who had promised to give more clarification on reaching Delhi, did mention that she was attacked right after completing her security check. The CISF personnel was deployed at the lounge where Kangana was headed. This is how she got easy access to the actress-politician. Recalling the incident, Kangana claims that the personnel was waiting for a woman to pass in order to be able to slap Kangana. The actress further claimed that the personnel started hurling abuses at her. Kangana clarified that the move was owing to the anger and wrath over the farmers' protest. “I am safe but my concern is how to handle the terrorism and violence in Punjab,” she said before ending the video.
What will happen now?
An inquiry committee consisting of senior CISF officers has been formed to further investigate the matter.
Kangana Ranaut contested elections as a candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is set to form the government with allies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony will take place on Sunday, June 9, in Delhi.
