The crime investigation-based show CID, featuring Shivaji Satam, Aditya Srivastava and Dayanand Shetty, is making a comeback after a six-year hiatus.

One of the iconic television shows CID is all set to make a comeback after six years on Television. The makers recently announced that CID has been renewed for a new season. CID 2 will soon air on Sony Entertainment Television. Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Shrivastava, the OGs of the show will return revving their characters in the show and the announcement has already made fans excited. However, everyone has one question on their minds why are Dayanand and Aditya's characters each other's enemies this time!?
In the new promo shared by SonyLIV, we can see Abhijeet pointing the gun towards Daya while ACP Pradyuman trying to stop him. However, Abhijeet shoots Daya and he falls off the waterfall after the bullet hits him. What made these two men, who were once known for their teamwork each other's enemies!? Guess we will find out once the show starts to air.
Sharing the promo, the makers captioned it: "A face-off you never expected, a story that’s far from over. CID is making a comeback! Stay tuned on Sony LIV. #CID #StreamingSoon"

Meanwhile, Pinkvilla earlier revealed that the shoot of CID Season 2 will begin around November 15. "The shoot begins around November 15, and the idea is to take the cult detective series on air in December - around the Christmas / New Year period. Over the years, audiences have given so much love to the TV show, and now is the time to give back the love to the audience," a source was quoted as saying.
For the uninitiated, the new season will premiere in December 2024.
