Johny Antony revealed a possible release date for the sequel to the cult Dileep film during the promotion of Tholvi FC
CID Moosa is a cult Malayalam film that is directed by Johny Antony and stars Dileep. The possibility of the sequel has been talked about for a few years now, and Dileep recently ended all speculations by confirming the sequel. Now, director Johny Antony has said the film is likely to be released in theatres in 2025. He was talking to the press during the promotion of his new film, Tholvi FC, which is scheduled to be released on November 3. Tholvi FC stars Sharafudheen and is directed by George Kora.
Speaking about the film, Johny said that if fans of the film who are eagerly waiting for the sequel alone watch the film, it can surpass the collection of Baahubali. He revealed that the film's team is currently working on the script and plans on releasing the film in 2025.
The CID Moosa sequel
Dileep and Johny Antony confirmed the sequel to CID Moosa during the promotion of their recent film, Voice of Sathyanathan. Dileep revealed that they have plenty of ideas for the movie but are still looking for more material to make the sequel even better than the first part. He explained that the first part focused on the character of CID Moosa and his dog, Arjun. However, they plan to expand the story in the sequel and make it bigger. The original movie was written by Udaykrishna and Sibi K Thomas, who later parted ways to work on individual scripts. Udaykrishna went on to write popular films like Pulimurugan and Pokkiriraja.
Salim Kumar is not part of the CID Moosa sequel
It appears that not all characters from CID Moosa will be returning for the sequel. Salim Kumar, who played a memorable role in the first film, has confirmed that he will not be a part of the sequel. The actor said that he is too old to play his CID Moosa character again.
