Disney+ Hotstar has been steadfast in acquiring south entertainment content in recent times. After bagging the post-theatrical streaming rights of Malayalam films like Manjummel Boys and Guruvayoor Ambalanadayil, and coming up with the Tamil series Uppu Puli Kaaram, the platform is back with yet another Tamil web series titled Chutney Sambar. The series is set to premiere on July 26 and here is everything you need to know about the project.

Chutney Sambar is set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on July 26. The series will consist of six episodes. It is to be noted that the series will release on the same day as Dhanush’s upcoming film Raayan in theatres. The series is directed by filmmaker Radha Mohan and is headlined by comedian Yogi Babu.

The trailer of Chutney Sambar debuted a few days ago. The series revolves around Amudha Cafe, an eatery in Ooty. Yogi Babu is seen running the eatery who works hard to uplift his eatery. As a few people visit him, claiming to be his brother, we get to know that his specialty is his secret recipe for chutney. The trailer also promises to be an emotional drama revolving around a family and the children.
Cast
Actor Yogi Babu will be headlining the series. Apart from him, we will also get to see notable faces like Vani Bhojan, Chandramouli, Ilango Kumaravel, Nandhini, and Nithin Sathyaa in prominent roles. The series is directed by Radha Mohan. Vani has earlier worked with Radha Mohan in Malaysia and Amnesia, while Ilango has appeared in the director’s films like Abhiyum Naanum and Azhagiya Theeye.

Crew
Chutney Sambar is written and directed by Radha Mohan, who is known for films like Mozhi, Abhiyum Naanum and Bommai. It marks the director’s maiden web series. Isari K Ganesh of Vels Film International has produced Chutney Sambar, which has Prasanna S Kumar cranking the camera and Jijendran handling editing. Ajesh has been roped in to compose music, Pon Parthiban is penning dialogues and Kadhirr is at the helm of art direction.
OTT partner
Chutney Sambar is soon to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar. It is to be noted that recently the platform debuted another Tamil web series titled Uppu Puli Kaaram, which also revolves around a family running an eatery. The platform releases four episodes a week.
