Chum Darang has been receiving a lot of praise since the makers of Rajkummar Rao’s Badhaai Do released the official trailer. Darang, who plays a pivotal role in the movie, has now opened up about her character in the story.

Speaking in an interview with The Times of India, Darang said, “The character that I am playing is such a fun girl and the tag of playing Bhumi’s love interest did not really bother me." It was a challenge to play a role like that, but I had no inhibitions, ”

She adds that she listened to her director and understood what the team wanted and that she believed that she had completed the challenge well.

Hailing from Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh, Darang was running a cafe in her hometown before she applied for a casting call and ended up getting the role. Tho she wanted to act, she never took it seriously, but it is now being discussed by fans of Hindi cinema.

The actor also added that her normal life before Badhaai Do has changed and she is getting a lot of attention now, for which she is thrilled and she feels her life is changing.

Badhaai Do is directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni and bankrolled by Vineet Jain under the banner of Junglee Pictures. It is the spiritual sequel to the 2018 comedy drama Badhaai Ho.

With Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead, the movie also stars Seema Pahwa, Sheeba Chaddha, Nitesh Pandey, and Loveleen Mishra, among others, in supporting roles.

The plot of the movie revolves around Rao’s character, who is a policeman, and Padnekar’s physical education teacher as a couple in a lavender marriage, with Darang playing the love interest of Padnekar’s Suman Singh.
