After ruling 2022, Mammootty will look forward to continue his reign at the box office with B Unnikrishnan’s Christopher in 2023. The makers, who have been sharing character posters from the film ahead of the film's expected release in January 2023, revealed the first look poster of its antagonist on Tuesday.
The megastar took to his social media page to reveal the character poster of Tamil star Vinay Rai's Sitaram Trimurthi. Earlier, director Unnikrishnan had announced that the team will be revealing the poster of the "man who breathes death" through Mammootty's pages on Tuesday. Vinay, who had essayed the antagonists in Sivakarthikeyan's Doctor and Suriya's Etharkkum Thunindhavan, was recently seen in Nayanthara's Connect. Christopher will mark his Malayalam debut.
The movie, which is scripted by Udaykrishna, also has Aishwarya Lekshmi, Amala Paul, Sneha, Shine Tom Chacko and Jinu Joseph in pivotal roles. Both Aishwarya and Amala will be teaming up with Mammootty for the first time in Christopher.
Incidentally, the makers had first bounced off the subject of Christopher to Mohanlal, who had said that it might be difficult to do the movie in between the pandemic lockdowns. That’s how both Unnikrishnan and Udaykrishna decided to collaborate with the Drishyam actor for Aaraattu, which hit theatres in February 2022.
Christopher is expected to hit theatres in January along with Mammootty’s Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, which is directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery. The megastar has also completed shooting for Jeo Baby’s family drama Kaathal: The Core, which has Tamil star Jyotika essaying the female lead. The actor also has the Telugu action-thriller titled Agent, which is directed by Surender Shetty and starring Akhil Akkineni to look forward to next year.
