The actor, who played Captain America in ten MCU movies, is currently awaiting the release of The Gray Man and Lightyear.
Chris Evans was one of the faces of the fan-favourite Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), having played the role of Steve Rogers/Captain America in ten movies. The actor, who held the shield up one last time in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame, has now opened up about the possibilities of returning to the role in another movie.
In an interview with Comicbook during the promotions of his upcoming movie, Lightyear, the actor was asked about the possibilities of playing Captain America in the future.
“I don't want to disappoint anybody but it's tough to... It was such a good run and I'm so happy with it. It's so precious to me. It would have to be perfect,” Evans said.
He added that it would be scary to rattle something that is so dear to him once again and that the role means so much to him and so to revisit it would be a tall order.
Marvel fans always seem to have ideas and theories floating around the MCU and one of the more recent story ideas was a Captain America movie, which would follow Evans’ Steve Rogers as he returns the six Infinity Stones back to its original timeline, a sequence which took place off-screen at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
Evans is currently busy promoting Lightyear, which is slated to hit theatres next week. The animated sci-fi action-adventure stars Evans as the voice of Buzz Lightyear. The movie tracks the origin story of the legendary Space Ranger who inspired the toy.
The movie also stars Keke Palmer, Peter Sohn, Taika Waititi, Dale Soules and James Brolin as Emperor Zurg.
The actor is also awaiting the releases of Netflix’s action thriller, The Gray Man, which also stars Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Dhanush, Wagner Moura, and Regé-Jean Page among others.
