The film stars Hridhu Haroon, Simhaa, RK Suresh, Anaswara Rajan and Munish Kanth in pivotal roles
Renowned dance choreographer Brinda Gopal, who took to direction with the Dulquer Salmaan, Aditi Rao Hydari starrer Hey Sinamika, is wielding the megaphone again. Her next is titled Thugs, starring Hridhu Haroon, Simhaa, RK Suresh, Anaswara Rajan and Munish Kanth in key roles. The trailer of the film, titled Konaseema Thugs in Telugu, received a thumping response from viewers.
Several leading names Vijay Sethupathi, Dulquer Salmaan, Arya, Anirudh and Keerthy Suresh unveiled the trailer earlier this week. The story revolves around the various conflicts in the lives of two thugs who plan to flee from prison in the hope of a better future. The power-packed dialogues, the raw action sequences and arresting performances are among the major USPs of the film.
Presented by Riya Shibu, the daughter of leading producer, distributor Shibu Thameens under HR Pictures and Jio Studios, the film marks the debut of the latter’s son Hridhu Haroon in a lead role. The story is set amidst the Konaseema region in the Telugu version. The trailer promises a feast for action buffs and a edge-of-the-seat experience with strong characters and a gripping screenplay.
Sam CS’s intense music score is another major highlight of the trailer. Brinda, who dealt with romance in her first outing, seems like a natural on the director’s chair with the action genre too. Originally made in Tamil, the film will also release in Hindi and Kannada languages. Jio Studios was also involved in the production of Brinda’s earlier film Hey Sinamika (now streaming on Netflix).
Priyesh Guruswamy cranks the camera for the film while Praveen Antony is the editor. Pheonix Prabhu and Rajasekar choreograph the action sequences. Malini Karthikeyan designs the costumes. Yuvaraj and Hariharakrishnan Ramalingam are the executive producer and the co-director respectively. Brinda also helmed a music video titled Gandhari featuring Keerthy Suresh in 2022.
