Choodalani Vundi is among the most memorable films in the second half of Chiranjeevi’s four decade-long career that bolstered his stardom in the late 1990s. The special Kolkata set erected for the project and the Ramma Chilakkamma number filmed in its backdrop still hold a special place in the hearts of audiences. The star forges another alliance with the city for his next, Bholaa Shankar.

Bholaa Shankar, directed by Meher Ramesh, also starring Keerthy Suresh, Tamannaah Bhatia, is the Telugu remake of Ajith’s Vedalam. The story revolves around a goon who transforms for the better for his sister, but is forced to return to his badass ways in the hour of crisis. A majority of the film unfolds in Kolkata and a special set was constructed in Hyderabad.

A new schedule of the action entertainer took off today in the city with the filming of a massive dance number featuring Chiranjeevi along with a group of 200 dancers. Sekhar master, who choreographed all the numbers in Waltair Veerayya, is the brain behind the dance moves here as well. Mahati Swara Sagar, son of composer Mani Sharma, scores the music for the same.

Keerthy Suresh, cast as Chiranjeevi’s on-screen sister, will also be joining the schedule shortly. Raghu Babu, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Ravi Shankar, Vennela Kishore, Tulasi, Pragathi, Sri Mukhi, Bithiri Sathi, Satya, Getup Srinu, Rashmi Gautam, Uttej, Prabhas Seenu essay important roles in the film as well. Ramabrahmam Sunkara is producing the biggie under AK Entertainments.

The film’s crew comprises cinematographer Dudley cranks the camera, with veteran writer Satyanand supervising the story and the dialogues penned by Thirupathi Mamidala. Marthand K Venkatesh is the editor while AS Prakash is and Kishore Garikipati are the production designer and the executive producer respectively.
