Director Chidambaram, who has been basking in the success of his blockbuster directorial Manjummel Boys, has become the toast of Kollywood. As the director’s film continues to soar high at the box office, Chidambaram has reportedly signed a project with a Tamil cinema biggie. According to the latest reports, Chidambaram is all set to direct Vikram’s Chiyaan 63! Yes, that’s right!

The director and the Thangalaan actor have been reportedly in talks to do a project and now hopefully might join hands for the project. If everything falls in place, the actor might begin shooting for the film once he wraps up his current film with SU Arun Kumar, Chiyaan 62. Notably, Vikram has been keen on doing projects with newbies, hence this collaboration is something we are all waiting for! Although reports about the new collaboration have been all over the internet, an official announcement about the same is awaited.

Chidambaram’s project with Dhanush

Earlier, the Manjummel Boys director had set his eyes on Dhanush to make his Tamil cinema debut. However, reports later suggested that due to the Asuran actor’s other commitments, the project may have been shelved. Now with Chidambaram’s potential collaboration with Vikram going on in full swing, we can expect the dream collaboration happening anytime soon!

Vikram’s list of projects

Vikram, on the other hand, has numerous projects that are lined up for release. The actor’s period drama Thangalaan was recently pushed to be released after the elections. while the actor’s long-awaited Gautham Vasudev Menon directorial Dhruva Natchathiram: Chapter One – Yuddha Kaandam is yet to see the light of the day.

Meanwhile, Chidambaram, who is awaiting the Telugu release of the survival drama on April 6, has received appreciation for his work from celebrities across industries. Manjummel Boys, which is inspired by real-life events, has earned more than Rs 50 crore from Tamil Nadu alone, making it the biggest Malayalam hit ever in the state. The film's worldwide collection is now pegged at more than Rs 220 crore.
