Actor Siddharth's relationship drama Chithha is all set to hit screens on September 28. The film is a hard-hitting emotional drama, helmed by SU Arun Kumar. The plot revolves around the relationship between an uncle and his niece, and how things go awry in their lives after an untoward incident.

Trailer to be released by Suriya
The latest we hear is that the film's trailer will be released by Suriya, who had shared screen space with Siddharth in Mani Ratnam's Aayutha Ezhuthu. The film is a political thriller and stars Madhavan, Suriya and Siddharth in the lead. Aayutha Ezhuthu was simultaneously shot in Hindi and the title Yuva was used for the same.
The thrilling teaser
In the meantime, going by the teaser, an unexpected incident turns the lives of an uncle and his niece upside down. How they muster the courage and fight back forms the plot. Chiththa The Great Indian Kitchen actress Nimisha Sajayan, marking her debut in Tamil.

The Kamal Haasan connection
The film's announcement was made by Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan with whom Siddharth is sharing the screen space for the first time in Indian 2. In the video, the Ulaganayagan had said, "Chiththa is short form of Chithappa, which means father's younger brother. I think the film has an interesting premise. Siddharth endeavours to do things differently. He takes cinema in a unique direction."Siddharth had added that the fact that Kamal Haasan himself dropped the first-look poster was a huge honour for him
Meanwhile, filmmakers including Mani Ratnam, Vetri Maaran, Prem Kumar, Pushkar and Gayatri, all praised the film.
Cast and crew
Dhibu Ninan Thomas and Vishal Chandrasekhar are in charge of the music. Balaji Subramanyam is handling the cinematography, and Suresh A Prasad is handling the editing. Red Giant Movies has bagged the theatrical rights of the film in Tamil Nadu. Siddharth himself has bankrolled the project under Etaki Entertainment.
