Aniruddha is the title character Chef Chidambara, a chef running a cloud kitchen out of his apartment. Rachel David plays his love interest in the film, while Nidhi Subbaiah is a neighbour, with the plot revolving around the disposal of a dead body. Sharath Lohithashwa is a cop who smells something fishy, and tries to squeeze Chidambara for what it is worth.

The film, according to Anand Raj, was shot in just over a month, including the talkie portions, 2 songs and 3 fights. “Chef Chidambara is a crime thriller that’s been presented with dark humour. The film is an entertainer that revolves around whether Chidambara is at the heart of the crime or if he unwittingly gets caught up in it,” he said.

Talking about taking up Chef Chidambara, Nidhi had said that she’d been typecast in bubbly, girl-next-door kind of characters, so the role in the film seemed like a perfect getaway from what she is used to doing. “Audiences will not expect to see me in this kind of a role,” she says, adding that it could add shock value or a pleasant surprise.

Chef Chidambara also stars Shivamani, KS Sridhar, Raghu Ramanakoppa, Kari Subbu, Mahantesh and Shwetha, with Ritwik Ritwik Muralidhar serving as music director. Chef Chidambara is being released in Karnataka KRG Studios, which is also presenting Daali Dhananjaya’s Kotee on the same day.
