Lawrence, Vadivelu and Kangana in Chandramukhi 2 

The trailer of Chandramukhi 2 is finally here. The sequel of the movie helmed by P Vasu 18 years ago has a different set of actors. Vadivelu is probably the only actor who has appeared again and his presence is expected to be one of the highlights of the project.

The three-minute promo offers a glimpse into some of the happenings, though the makers haven't revealed the entire plot. However, the story revolves around Vettaiyan and Chandramukhi, the characters essayed by Rajinikanth and Jyotika in the 2005 movie.

Lawrence, Kangana and Vadivelu attempt to recreate the magic

The scenes featuring Lawrence and Kangana are said to be the USP of the movie which has been bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The challenge for them is to match the performance put forward by Rajini and Jyotika. Like the first part, this time, too, the film features a bevy of actors.

Radhika, Subiksha, Rao Ramesh, Mahima Nambiar and Ravi Mariya will be seen essaying key roles. Maragathamani's music is considered to be another attraction of the horror drama. RD Rajasekar and Anthony have handled cinematography and editing respectively while Ravi Varma, Kanal Kannan, Stunt Siva and Om Prakash have helmed action scenes.

Lawrence's second outing in 2023

The film is the second release of Lawrence to be released this year. He was seen in Rudhran, an underwhelming outing, a few months ago. His next release in 2023 is Karthik Subbaraj's Jigarthanda Double X which is slated for a release during Deepavali.

He was supposed to act in Durga under the direction of popular stunt director duo Anbariv. However, they opted out of the film and Lawrence himself has agreed to helm the project.
