Chandramukhi 2: Superstar Rajinikanth pens a letter to Raghava Lawrence and team

Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut's latest outing Chandramukhi 2 opened to packed theatres on September 28. The film was released along with Jayam Ravi's Iraivan and Siddharth's Chithha.
Superstar Rajinikanth wishes the team
In the meantime, the original Vettaiyan, Superstar Rajinikanth has sent across his wishes to the team. The letter read, "Chandramukhi (2005) is a massive hit in my career. I send my wishes across to director P Vasu, who has presented the movie in a unique angle to the lovers of cinema, Raghava Lawrence, who acted really well and to the entire team involved in the making." Lyca dropped the letter on its social media handle and wrote," A surprise love note from Thalaivar @rajinikanth. We are honored by your praise for #Chandramukhi2 Thank you Thalaivar (sic)."
Raghava Lawrence met Rajinikanth before the film's release
The Chandramukhi 2 actor sought the blessings of Superstar Rajinikanth, ahead of the film's release. It was Rajinikanth and Jyotika, who had made the characters of Vettaiyan and Chandramukhi popular.
After the meeting, Raghava Lawrence shared his excitement on his social media handle, " "Hi friends and fans, Today I met my Thalaivar and Guru @rajinikanth to wish him for jailer’s blockbuster success and got blessings for #Chandramukhi2 release on September 28th. I’m so happy. Thalaivar is always great. Guruve Saranam (sic)." Raghava has also sought the blessings of Rajinikanth before he began work on the film.
Ensemble star cast
The supporting cast includes Vadivelu, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Lakshmi Menon, Srushti Dange, Mahima Nambiar and Rao Ramesh to name a few. Music for the film is by MM Keeravani, cinematography by RD Rajasekar and editing by Anthony.
The film has opened to mixed reviews from the critics and audience, with many calling the film a bad rehash of the original. It is to be noted that Chandramukhi 2 is a remake of the popular Malayalam film, Manichitrathazhu (1993).
