The thrilling trailer
The plot revolves around Vettaiyan and Chandramukhi, the characters essayed by Rajinikanth and Jyotika in the 2005 movie, Chandramukhi. The film, in turn, was a remake of the cult classic Manichitrathazhu by Faasil, which hit screens in 1993 and had Mohanlal, Shobana and Suresh Gopi in the lead.
In Chandramukhi 2, Vettaiyan and Chandramukhi will once again have a face-off and one needs to see if Chandramukhi manages to avenge the death of her lover. Ace comedian Vadivelu, who played Murugesan in the original, is the only actor to have been retained from the original.
