Both the actor and the director were in the US as they were attending a cultural symposium hosted by the non-resident Bengali community.
Bangladeshi actor Chanchal Chowdhury rose to fame in West Bengal with his Hoichoi web series. He swept the Bengali audience off their feet with his magical performance in Karagar. Soon he bagged the role of Mrinal Sen in Srijit Mukherji’s Padatik – a biopic of the master director. Now, if sources are to be believed, the actor may work with Dostojee-director Prasun Chatterjee.
Prasun posted a photo on Facebook on Monday with the actor and captioned it, “Ebar Tahole ek notun pod ranna kora jaak (Let’s cook a new dish).” Both the actor and the director were in the US as they were attending a cultural symposium hosted by the non-resident Bengali community.
According to sources, there is a possibility of them working together on Prasun’s next film. However, nothing has been finalised yet. Sources said that the director is scheduled to start the research of his next film by July. He is scheduled to travel the several districts of West Bengal – areas that share international borders with Bangladesh and Nepal. “Prasun has just started working on his next film, and that will take time. It will be a big-scale production. He has no plan to start shooting in the next year. There is a chance that the actor and the director may collaborate, but nothing is confirmed,” the source told us.
Meanwhile, Prasun is still touring with his film Dostojee which is being released in global theatres. The film will hit the theatres in Taiwan with Mandarin subtitles. It will see a commercial release there. Meanwhile, the film will also be screened in Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa.
