Chamak release date — When and where to watch Paramvir Cheema and Isha Talwar's web series on OTT

Chamak is created and directed by filmmaker Rohit Jugraj. The web series is touted to be the biggest musical thriller of the year.

As 2023 is about to end, there are several web shows and movies which are scheduled to premiere. Chamak is one of them. Touted to be the biggest musical thriller of the year, the web series stars Paramvir Cheema in the lead role. This web show has been created and directed by Rohit Jugraj. Having said that, Chamak is all set to premiere on SonyLIV this Thursday, December 7.

This web series comprises as many as 14 artists. The star cast of Chamak includes Paramvir, Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa, Akasa Singh, Mohit Malik, Suvinder Vicky, Mukesh Chhabra, Prince Kanwaljeet Singh, and more. Gippy Grewal has made a special appearance in this series.

What is Chamak all about?

Chamak, directed by Rohit Jugraj, is a fictional tale of Kaala, an aspiring singer. He travels from Canada to Punjab in a quest to unravel the mystery behind his father and legendary singer Taara Singh's death. According to the official plotline of Chamak, Kaala steers through the 'underbelly of the Punjab music industry' via politics, business feuds, family history, and possible honour killings.

Rohit Jugraj talks about Chamak

In an official statement, Rohit Jugraj mentioned that the series started with the idea that no artist should be killed. As per him, music embodies art and that, in return, embodies love. However, Jugraj believes the union of art and violence can lead to a cycle of bloodshed for many generations to come.

Describing his web series, Rohit added that Chamak is not about 'glamour' but the darkness that glooms behind the stage lights. For Jugraj, this web show was personally a spiritual and cathartic experience for him.

Chamak music album

For those who are unaware, the music album of Chamak has 28 songs. The tracks have been crooned by Gippy Grewal, Malkit Singh, MC Square, Mika Singh, Asees Kaur, Afsana Khan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kanwar Grewal, Harjot Kaur and Shashwat Singh. The album includes songs like Ganda Banda, Chal Uth Kaale, Mat Maari, Tota Puri, Khairaat, Aas Lagi Hai, Edar Odar, Kangi Wava, Main Meera Main Deewani, and more.
