The latest update about the shooting of Kaatera, we hear, is that the team is busy executing a high octane action sequence.
Challenging Star Darshan is evidently striving hard for his next, Kaatera, which marks his second full-fledged collaboration with Tharun Kishore Sudhir. The duo had first worked together on Chowka but their maiden collaboration, technically, came about in 2021 in the form of the actioner Roberrt. This time around, though, they have chosen to offer something completely new yet equally promising to the audiences in Kaatera, which is a commercial entertainer set in rural Karnataka in the 1970s.
The latest update about the shooting of Kaatera, we hear, is that the team is busy executing a high-octane action sequence. However, aside from these small updates that stem from either the official sources or other industry trackers, one still awaits a visual glimpse of the film. Darshan fans, on the other hand, are hoping to see the film arriving in theatres in 2023 but the current speculations, though, suggest that the wait to see Kaatera on the big screen is likely to get a bit longer.
The buzz is that team Kaatera could be eyeing an early 2024 slot for the release, meaning we are again looking at Sankranti, the Republic Day or sometime in February. Considering the remainder is already packed with big releases like Dunki, Tiger 3, Salaar and many others, one would also reckon that Kaatera would benefit from releasing at a later point, a little away from all the mayhem that's about to unfold. Darshan's previous two films, Kranti and Roberrt, too, had released in January and February, respectively.
Kaatera also marks the debut of former superstar Malashree and late film producer Ramu's daughter Radhana Ram, who plays the role of Prabhavathi. Well-known actors Jagapathi Babu, Kumar Govind, Shruthi and others, too, are part of the cast.
