Challenging Star Darshan might have chosen to stay away from all the ongoing ‘pan-India’ hysteria but his fans can rest assured that there’s something very exciting brewing. The actor has almost wrapped up Kranti with music composer/director V. Harikrishna (barring a few sequences) and even begun on the dubbing process, with the film slated to release later this year. On the other hand, Darshan is all set to begin shooting for his 56th project with director Tharun Kishore Sudhir.

Yes, according to the recent reports, the yet-untitled project (tentatively named D56) will be launched at a special muhurtha event on the occasion of Varamahalakshmi (August 5). Producer Rockline Venkatesh, who has previously worked with Darshan on the 2009 film Yodha and Kurukshetra confirms in the same report that the shooting of D56 will begin soon after the muhurtha: the film will be produced under the Rockline Entertainments (Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Lingaa, Natasaarvabhowma, etc.).

D56 would be Darshan and Tharun Kishore Sudhir’s third collaboration after Chowka and Roberrt. While the Challenging Star featured in an extended cameo appearance in the former, Roberrt proved to be a major commercial success and was one of the first post-pandemic box office hits along with films like ACT-1978 and others.

Reportedly, the first schedule of D56 will be shot in Bengaluru with the team later heading to Hyderabad to cover crucial portions. Details regarding the rest of the cast and crew of the film are yet to be divulged.

The first poster of D56 features a dog leading a flock of sheep with the tagline ಹಿಂದಿರೋವ್ರಿಗೆ ದಾರಿ ಮುಂದಿರೋವ್ನದ್ದು ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ (It’s the responsibility of those in front to lead the ones in the back). The same theme poster also states that the film is based on social incidents and the unique artwork has already piqued the interests of the audience who are now keenly looking forward to the exciting collaboration.
