Chaaver, which stars Kunchacko Boban in the lead role, has received mixed reviews ever since its release on October 5. While the makers have not accused anyone of running a negative campaign against the film, they recently held a press conference urging reviewers to allow the film to reach its intended audience.

During the press conference, Kunchacko shared his perspective on making a film. He acknowledged that everyone has unique tastes and opinions when it comes to films, making it impossible to please every audience member.

"I understand that in today's fast-paced world, negative reviews are not uncommon in the film industry. I have been a part of this industry for 26 years and have experienced initial negative reviews for my films that later turned positive through word-of-mouth. Unfortunately, this type of support is lacking in today's theatre culture," he said.

The actor also expressed concern over film reviews appearing on booking platforms even before the first show. "Some reviewers are doing this deliberately, while others are honest. Either way, it doesn't give the film a chance to find its audience. Every film has its own unique audience, and just because it didn't work for one person, it doesn't mean that it won't work for someone else," Kunchacko said.

The Padmini actor acknowledged that everyone has the right to freedom of speech, but he also said that a few negative reviews can have a big impact on people who may have enjoyed the film.

"When 10 reviews influence 100 people, it can ultimately affect the film's success. Therefore, negative reviews can harm the hard work and investment that goes into a film, potentially ruining its efforts. So, a type of licencing or censorship should be imposed on reviews that come on social media," Kunchacko said.
