Chaaver is the third directorial of Tinu Pappachan, who is known for notable movies like Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil and Ajagajantharam. The film which stars Kunchacko Boban, Arjun Ashokan, and Antony Varghese is touted to be a political thriller. It is the biggest film in the career of Tinu, made on a budget of 15 crore. Now, actor Antony Varghese has shared the second-look poster of Chaaver through his Instagram page. He shared the poster with a caption that says, "Tinu Pappachan's artistry delivers another captivating cinematic gem!!! Witness the exquisite second-look motion poster of Chaaver!!!"

The poster features the characters of Kunchacko, Arjun, Manoj, and others with intense looks. They are shown as the part of a tree and the roots move around the body, finally putting them in shackles. The eerie music which accompanies the poster adds tension to an already intense theme. Earlier, the first look and the title poster of Chaaver also hinted at an intense film in the making.

The title poster had shown a Theyyam figure, a jeep in flames, and the characters along a Knife’s edge. Following the first look, the Kerala artist Davinci Suresh created a sand sculpture of the poster, which reminded us of America’s Mount Rushmore.

Scripted by Joy Mathew, the movie is not said to be a throughout action film, but has elements that sustain the action mood.

Sajin Gopu, who's known for Romancham, and Manoj KU, noted for his performance in Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam, also play key roles in the film.

Nishadh Yusuf, who recently won the Kerala State Award for Best Editing in Thallumaala, is the editor of Chaaver. Jinto George, who lensed Tinu’s last film Ajagajantharam, has been roped in as the cinematographer.

Kunchacko Boban was last seen in Padmini, helmed by Senna Hegde. The film, which talked about themes like marriage and elopement, was a humorous take on certain conventional views of society. The film garnered positive reviews and was regarded as a success.
