Karnataka Bulldozers on CCL 2023: ‘Not the way we wanted to end the tournament’
But should you prefer to watch the Bulldozers with Kannada commentary, you’ll need to watch the match on Star Suvarna. All of Karnataka Bulldozers’ group stage matches will be available on the channel mandatorily, and should they progress further, that too will be part of the telecast agreement. It may just be more interesting to watch the matches on Star Suvarna, with commentators who will probably identify the team's ambassadors and celeb supporters, unlike the earlier match, during which Parvathi Nair was called a 'fan'.
CCL 2024: Kiccha Sudeep and his Karnataka Bulldozers have no home ground matches; here’s why
The Bulldozers, who’ve been in the final of the tournament 6 times in its 9 editions so far, won 2 and lost 4. Last year, they were only able to make it to the semi-final stage, losing to eventual champions Telugu Warriors. Although Kiccha Sudeep is not ‘leading’ as skipper, he will still lead his boys from the front in their effort to remedy this and give the team a better journey in the tournament.
This time around, the Karnataka Bulldozers come in a better mental and physical state. Last year, most of the members of the team were also playing the Kannada Chalanachitra Cup, which was held on February 24 and 25 in Bengaluru, after which they had to immediately take off to Jaipur for their match against the Kerala Strikers.
CCL 2024: Karnataka Bulldozers skipper Pradeep says, ‘Ee sala cup namde’
While they won the match against the Strikers, there’s no denying that the cricket schedule of the playing 11 was quite hectic last time around, which could be why they eventually ran out of steam in the semi-final. The team had said that it was not the way they were hoping to end the tournament and have vowed to take the Cup home this time around.
Incidentally, CCL founder Vishnu Vardhan Induri has been rooting for a team from the north to win the tournament and had named Bengal Tigers as contenders. Jisshu Sengupta’s team have already notched up a splendid victory, while last year’s runner-up Bhojpuri Dabanggs lost their first encounter against the Telugu Warriors.
